Why the business benefits of VoIP can’t be ignored

BT have announced that “by 2025, all their customers will be using IP Voice.”  2025 may seem like a long way off, but if you are currently using an ISDN network system and your contract is coming up for renewal in the next few years, you really need to be thinking about and planning your next telephony solution. The benefits of switching to a VoIP telephone system are worth a look.

VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) is the future of business telephone systems Lower call costs, scalability, flexibility, and much, much more.

So what is all the fuss about?

Switching over from a conventional phone to a VoIP phone will save you money, whether you are making local, mobile or international calls. But it is not just the call savings that make businesses decide to switch over to VoIP, it is also the features. If you can answer ‘yes’ to any of these questions then a VoIP business package could save you money and improve business efficiency.

Do you have home workers
Do you want to be able to pick up voicemail anytime and anywhere
Do you wish you had caller ID so you can redirect, block or take a call
Do you have multiple phone lines
Do you want flexible capacity (upgrade or expand your system quickly and simply in real-time)
Do you want to keep your existing phone numbers and switch suppliers
A word of warning … all VoIP is not the same

It is not all just plug and play, your VoIP quality is only as good as your internet connection. When looking for a VoIP provider make sure they take the time to check if your internet provision is able to support a VoIP telephony system. Be cautious of ‘Off the shelf’ solutions, every business is different and has different needs. Take the time to do some research and chose a VoIP provider that takes the time to understand what you need.
